Conform unui nou raport publicat azi de Taiwan Economic News, productia noului chip de procesoare A.x Apple a inceput. Chip-urile vor fi folosite pentru un nou produs Apple, lansat in prima jumatate a anului 2012.
Produsul va fi finalizat in primul trimestru economic al anului 2012 si, cel mai probabil, va echipa iPad-ul 3.
Procesoarele Apple A6 vor fi produse de Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC), care a semnat un contract cu Apple menit sa ii indeparteze pe acestia din urma de dependenta fata de un producator care in acelasi timp le este si pricipalul concurent, adica Samsung.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TSMC), the world’s largest semiconductor foundry by market shares now, has allegedly started trial production of the A6 processor in cooperation with Apple Inc., with the production design to be taped out in the first quarter of next year and scheduled to be publicly unveiled in the second quarter at the earliest, according to industry sources.
In fact, the sources said, TSMC has been capable of handling processor production for Apple, but didn’t build the business ties with the customer in the past due mainly to limited production lines, which were almost fully booked by existing customers, including Nvidia and Qualcomm. But, the industry has been experiencing a depression, making TSMC stand the chance to collaborate with Apple on processor production this year.
Am mai scris luna trecuta ca Apple nu va mai semna cu Samsung pentru productia procesorului A6, iar avem dovada ca raportul nostru a fost precis.
Procesorul Apple A6 va fi folost in urmatoarea generatie de iPhone, iPod touch si iPad 3. Va fi bazat pe un proces de 28nm si va fi proiectat pentru a procesa in mod special tehnologia 3D.
